Claim the new .au domain name for your business today!

What's Happening?

From March 2022, all Australian entities will be able to register their domain names to .au domain. Until now, only third-level .au domains were allowed for registration (e.g. forexample.com.au or forexample.net.au).

.AU direct registrations will be available for general use by any person or organisation, provided they have an Australian presence. In essence, the holder of the forexample.com.au domain name, will have priority to apply to register forexample.au. At the end of the period, if no priority applications have been lodged, the .au direct name will become available to the public.

Why is it important?

While this is a significant change and a great opportunity for any registrants operating in Australia, it is also an opportunity for malicious actors to claim the .au domain by registering for it.
